Goldsands transport listeners to ‘A Place Far Away’ with brooding and cinematic new single, they effortlessly blend elements of pop, rock and jazz.
The single tells the story of a faded film star’s unlikely bond with a neglected young woman after crossing paths in Tokyo, drawing inspiration from cult classic movie Lost in Translation. What makes this even more unique is that it was self-produced in a converted apartment in Birmingham and then later mastered at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.
‘A Place Far Away’ has comparable sounds to groups like Radiohead, The Beatles and Coldplay, this is a result of the band members eclectic musical backgrounds, Liam brings a rock vibe with a driving groove, Tom brings a Jazz flare, Ramsey takes his influences from the experimental sounds of the 60’s, James gives suitable guitar ambience and Matt is a sucker for a pop hook.
The single ‘A Place Far Away’ has a lovely soft melody which is complimented by the vocals, it really does transport you to somewhere different, as it is a bit of a dreamy track, stream it here:
