‘You Show Me Yours At Xmas’ – The Senti-Mentals

Paul Eccentric and John Dobinson are the minds behind the musical-steering wheel of The Senti-Mentals and they putting their stamp on the Christmas song marketplace with their cheeky festive number, ‘You Show Me Yours At Xmas’.

The pair have joined forces, creating a 50s style doo-wop duo with influences from ska and rock-pop too; it’s a potent combination.

‘You Show Me Yours At Xmas’ is intended to be an amusing Christmas party singalong based on “that one guy from accounts who assumes that every lady in the office wants to go home with him but he couldn’t be further from the truth.” The humorous track mixed by Pete Hammond was originally about the ridiculousness of the ‘chatting up’ process, but soon became an entirely different beast with a comedic edge.

Perhaps the best thing about the single from the Senti- Mentals is how they are diverging from the Christmas song cliche that we are so familiar with. Instead, with ‘You Show Me Yours At Xmas’, we are presented with an alternative that’s a little bit risque, but also hilarious (see the video) – what more could you want?
