Crossover artist Georg Roman releases ‘Forever’

Fusing his favourite genres of classic operatic styles and rock, Georg Roman has unleashed his powerful track ‘Forever’ on the world.

Although the Russian singer-songwriter did always intend to be a musician, formerly pursuing a career in sport, he has certainly found his calling in music, forming his own unique blend of classical-rock.

Classical instrumentation, including a dramatic piano lead and emotive string sections combine with Georg’s powerful voice, making for music like you’ve never heard it before.

Georg has always enjoyed using his whole vocal range when singing and composing for himself, and this style that he has adopted allows him to do so.

In terms of rock, Georg looks up to the likes of Eric Clapton and Joe Cocker, but he when it comes to classical- the greats such as Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo are firm favourites.

Matt Boroff reveals his ‘Grand Delusion’ in new video

For a true insight into a songwriting mind, check out Matt Boroff’s new video discussing the concepts and ideas that drive his new album, Grand Delusion.

It can take a long time to fully understand what an album is about, and the cryptic nature of Matt’s lyrics would unlikely change this, but his new record is one worth delving into. With a distinctly current agenda, addressing some of the society’s most pressing issues at this time, Grand Delusion  challenges our perceptions of how we see the world and pushes us to question it.

Matt’s new record has been put together with the help of Alain Johannes from 11AD studios, Jack Irons (former Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam drummer) and Mark Lanegan. Grand Delusion is out May 5th.

‘Home’ by James Kennedy

Talented singer-songwriter, James Kennedy, has been on a long road in the world of music but now he is releasing possibly his finest piece of work with his new album, ‘Home’.

James used to be the face of Welsh hard-rock band, Kyshera, who found success touring all over Europe. However, it was this difficult lifestyle that caused James to suffer from depression and the outcome of that was ‘Home’. Evidently, from the album’s title, there was a yearning to return to one’s roots and this is exhibited across the record.

James took a bit of time out from music after touring with Kyshera, but it was this that actually brought him back to his passion of songwriting. His bouts of depression fueled his inspiration and within just a few months, James had written, recorded and mastered ‘Home’. This period of time proved to be highly therapeutic for James, allowing him to gain release through his talents.

At a young age, James became a particularly proficient self-learner and he applied these skills to learning guitar, bass, piano and vocals. He then moved on to the Welsh College of Music and Drama where he developed his craft, before going on to form his own label, Konic Records.

James’ album isn’t out until March 31st, but you can listen to some of his previous tracks here on SoundCloud:

Portsmouth rockers Free From Gravity release brand new punky single ‘Dance With Me’

Portsmouth rock four-piece Free From Gravity gear up for the release of their upcoming EP with this new upbeat single ‘Dance With Me’.

The track sports a catchy chorus and some summery punky guitars. A music video is set to come out in June.

Stream the single here:

Playing a style of music they call ‘Kick Assed Chilled Out Rock’ (or Soft Rock With Attitude), the band have proved that they are just as capable at writing fun guitar anthems as they are writing emotional ballads, their last single ‘The Long Road’ inspired by frontman Vince’s mother and her battle with cancer.

In the last few months they have played several live venues including The Bedford Live in London, the Vikings Motorcycle Club Rally and the Centurion  in Waterlooville. The band are set to play a number of festivals this year including Hoefest in Waterlooville, Gosport festival on July August 6th, Willow Festival in Dorset on September 18th, plus a load of other gigs in the pipeline.

Alongside these exciting live dates, Free From Gravity have also hinted that they will be playing several guerrilla gigs across the South Coast of England. The exact location of these guerrilla gigs will be kept a secret, the band announcing each one hour before on Facebook (so fans will need to keep a keen eye on their Facebook page!)

The band’s upcoming EP is set to include the singles ‘Dance With Me’, ‘Crazy Lady’, ‘Step Into The Sunlight’ and ‘Saints and Sinners’.

Creatures Of Leisure – The Floating Bridges

The album has been borne out of the band’s jammin’ sessions, and has been inspired by “good times” they have had together living on the Sunshine Coast. Lead single ‘Dreamcatcher’ allows the listener to get in to the same groove. The track features the traditional offbeat rhythms of reggae as well as the spiritual side of roots music, combined with Jimi Hendrix-style rock-n-roll guitar, which allows for an undeniably original yet authentic sound.

Rhett May with Brand new ‘The Violence Of Ice’ Release

Rhett May self-produced rock is simple, raw and home-made – without over-the-top production but with plenty to say about May’s take on the modern world.

With a musical career which spans back to the seventies when his band Lucifer supported legendary rock band Queen, Rhett May is a voice of experience in a rock world which has become increasingly shallow. He’s toured the world, seen the music industry from the inside, and watched the dark side of the business consume those around him.

The-Violence-of-Ice

Throughout those experiences, Rhett May continually turned away the excesses of the industry, choosing instead to write his own story as opposed to those who fell into the clutches of addiction. His is a positive message, song writing influenced by a wide and varied back story which took him from an orphanage at seven years old, to the streets of Calcutta in India, to settling in Melbourne, Australia as part of Lucifer.

Kinky Dove 3 track release – EP

3 track release set to be unleashed on June 15th

Born in in Australia but now living in London, Kindy Dove is the musical moniker of frontman Scott Wade and his evolving collective of musicians. Progenitors of gritty, driving rock, the group are readying themselves for a fresh assault on the music industry with a brand new three track EP.

Produced by Chris Kimsey, previously of Olympic Studios, the EP marks Kinky Dove out as one of the earthiest rock bands on the scene. Fans of Scott Wade and Kinky Dove before they began working together, the producer understood the style and heights at which the music was aiming, and helped mould that vision into the musical reality that Kinky Dove has become.

The CD was mixed by Wade. Studio legend Phill Brown loved the sound of the CD, commenting that the mixes were “open and alive.”

The resulting EP is a continuation of form from previous album ‘Kinky Dove vol. 1’, and the latest step in Kinky Dove’s  climb.

Their particular brand of rock and roll, defined in many ways by the bluesy, post-rock growl of Wade on vocals, is currently in short supply both nationally and globally, and Kinky Dove are now looking to redress that balance.

For a taste of their punchy style, check out the video to EP track ‘Some Kind of Fool’, featuring an epic slap-happy montage of Hollywood moments.

The EP also features a remix/cover version of classic 1978 track ‘Another Girl Another Planet’ by The Only Ones – in this case titled simply ‘Another Girl’.

There is also a trance remix of ‘It’s Called Heartache’ on the EP. You can find the video for this at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJIxSzoYQ-g

Wings of Pegasus soar with new rock track ‘That’s Metal (To My Ears)’

  • Single from debut album ‘Persistence’ out May 10th
  • Raising money for Cancer Research UK through the ‘Make Chart History’ Campaign

Wings of Pegasus

Hard rock with an 80s twist inspired by the likes of Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Dokken and more, Wings of Pegasus are a rock band with a big sound and a fresh approach to the music industry. With new single ‘That’s Metal (To My Ears)’ due in May, the band are running a campaign called ‘Make Chart History’, aiming to take the independent release to the very top of the charts, all the while donating the proceeds to Cancer Research UK.

Hoping to whip up a groundswell of support, songwriter Fil Henley is working hard to spread the word on the campaign as well as the single itself – an independently produced homage to old 80’s bands with big hair and screeching guitar solos. Designed to encourage listeners to dust off the air guitar, it’s great fun and the most light hearted track on the ‘Persistence’ album, which is out now.

Produced in house by Henley, who taught himself the techniques to keep the band independent, the song is the perfect catalyst for the charity drive and ‘Make Chart History’ campaign to hang on. Key tastemakers Leona Graham of Absolute Radio and John Kennedy at XFM have already voiced their support for Wings of Pegasus’ music, and the band are working hard to continue getting the word out.
